Assurity existed as a subsidiary of Woodmen Accident and Life Company from 1997 until 2003, when the two companies merged to become Assurity Life Insurance Company. Through Woodmen, Assurity's roots date back to 1890. We have earned an A- (Excellent) rating from A.M. Best Company, independent insurance analysts. This rating was re-affirmed as recently as June of 2003, and reflects sound management practices, favorable investment returns, and low net costs to policyholders. The mission of Assurity Life Insurance Company is to help people through difficult times. We accomplish this by offering a variety of protection-based insurance products covering life events such as death, disability and critical illness.
